An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred only 16 minutes ago 85 km northwest of Sola, Vanuatu, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported.
4.8 quake 2 Jul 2:07 am (GMT +11)
The quake hit at an intermediate to considerable depth of 185 km beneath the epicenter near Sola, Torba, Vanuatu, early morning on Friday 2 July 2021 at 2:07 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by France's Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS), which listed it as a magnitude 5.1 earthquake.
